The environment is very important to O'Carrollyns, attracting a wide range of native Australian animals.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY POLICY
O'Carrollyns at One Mile Beach is committed to providing inexpensive accommodation for travellers and holiday-makers from all walks of life, while providing opportunities for guests to experience the natural environment both on location at our park and in the local surrounds. O'Carrollyns seeks to augment visitor's understanding and appreciation of environment and conservation, especially those whose disabilities prevent them from accessing mainstream tourist facilities.
Developed with ecofriendly design and construction methods, O'Carrollyns seeks to operate with a positive environmental impact, and provide cover and feed for local wildlife, including reptiles, birds, and, of course, koalas.
O'Carrollyns is home to a local male koala that calls O'Carrollyns home for most of the year, due to it's unique environment where there is plenty of fodder to choose from.
In the evening and early morning 'Spud' can sometimes be heard 'grunting' to attract more females to his domain.
