TOMAREE KOALA CARE INC

The Tomaree Koala Care Inc was initiated by O'Carrollyns as a way of maintaining the money raised to go directly to local Tomaree Peninsula animals.

The Native Animal Trust Fund (NATF) in the Hunter Valley (like WIRES in Sydney) is a non profit organisation run by local people for the care and rehabilitation of injured wild animals back into the wild.

The carers of these injured animals are everyday people and are not reimbursed for their time.

One of the main agendas of the group is the installation of a Koala crossing across Gan Gan Road near the intersection of Koala Place in a gallant attempt to reduce the number of road deaths at this point.

Donation tin at reception.

Donating the money paid for using O'Carrollyns laundry facilities straight into the same tin.

Installation of the Wishing Well at reception.

Invention, construction and marketing of "Koala Drop" jewellery

Selling koala carvings to again raise money.

Letting of O'Carrollyns facilities (generally the Tall Story Conference/Meeting Room and adjacent Bait Shed BBQ) to local groups for a donation (generally about $50.00) into the donation tin.

Placing adds in the local paper for the NATF.

Construction of small buildings like the leaf storage shade house for the local Koala Rehabilation Centre.

Setting up a stall at the local Whale Festival for "koala face paintings" of chidren.

If you are having too much of a good time at O'Carrolyns you may be fined a dollar to slow you up a bit.

Locking yourself out of your bungalow will incurr a $1.00 fine into the wishing well to get back in again – and you are not allowed to wish that it doesn't happen again.

Any other reason we can think of.

So, if you have some spare loose change at the end of your great stay at O'Carrollyns and especially if you’ve had a "koala experience" – throw it into the wishing well.

The koalas would really appreciate a little tickle along and would work very hard to make your wish come true.
